THE CHALLENGE
To safely move aerospace equipment, parts and components without exposing or contaminating them with dust and other airborne particles.
THE SOLUTION
American Crane manufactured a 25 ton top running double girder clean room class 100K crane, custom designed for this environment. This crane features precise movement and control, as well as high gloss paint on crane and hoist to ensure surface areas are clean and free of contaminants. Special attention was paid to weld thickness, sharp edges, closures and crevices. In addition, all hardware was designed to be leak and flake free.
THE RESULT
This special design met all customer specified requirements, allowing our clean room crane to assist in building the Orion spacecraft.
